Physical Therapy Rehab
Rehabilitation > Physical Therapy Rehab
The process of rehabilitation happens for many reasons such as drug abuse, alcohol abuse and as a means of correcting an injury. Physical therapy is often used during rehab in order to get the body back to its normal state of physical health. When an injury occurs that requires a great deal of surgery or a loss in muscle tissue and nerve damage; physical therapy rehab is the most common means of dealing with this and getting the injured body part back to its regular working order.
Physical therapy rehab is always a combination of physical therapy and psychological therapy. The physical therapy often uses stretching techniques, weights etc. in order to help the muscles get stronger and also massage and heat and ice treatment so as not to cause more damage to the muscles while letting them relax after a hard day’s work. It is never easy to go through the physical therapy at first and can sometimes be quite painful at first, but the rewards are often worth it.
There are many types of physical therapy as they apply to different situations some of the can include: Geriatric (used to help ease the pains of adult aging), neurological (helps those with neurological diseases and disorders like Parkinson’s disease and muscular dystrophy), Orthopedic (used for people with skeletal problems or those who’ve had surgery on the feet or ankles) and Pediatric (This is generally to help children with a variety of disorders or injuries) Physical therapy rehab is generally used to strengthen the body and help those who suffer from some sort of a physical ailment or injury. It can be a process, but it is a process that is worth taking. If only to help you get your life back to normal.
