With the world we live in there is no wonder our teens are struggling to get off the couch. Computers have replaced just about every social grace we have. We no longer pick up the phone, or write a letter, instead we sit at a computer and type impersonal words in computer talk to short form the message. The TV is the modern baby sitter and the high tech world of computer games has the teens lost in “beep beep beep”
Activities like dancing and rollerblading are also a great way of increasing your activity and having fun at the same time! The question lays in how do we get today’s teens off the couch? Some how some way we need to get our children out there and get their hearts pumping. In addition to having fun, taking part in physical activity is a great way to: get fit and lose weight, help you breathe more easily, build stronger bones, meet up with your friends and meet new people, unwind from your studies and relieve stress and tension .
Thirty minutes of physical activity a day can improve a child’s school grades, and their over all health. Encourage your child to get out there and join a club, where it is dance, baseball, or hockey. Life is meant to be lived, not sat through.
Medical experts say it is time to shut off the television and get our children moving. Child hood obesity has never been higher. They warn that poor eating habits and lack of physical activity is a cause for grave concern.
In our attempts to give our children all things material, and keep up with life’s daily grind we are causing a great deal of health issues.
The fact is we are creating a huge future generation of people that will be overcome with severe health issue.
