Media and Weight Loss
Weight Loss > > Media and Weight Loss
The media plays a huge role in societies weight loss patterns. The super models of today have shown the women of this world that to be pencil thin is not only attractive it is financially worth putting down the chocolate bars. Or is it. The media shows that super models are getting thinner and sicker as the years go by. How does the media effect those that you love?
Turn on the television and what do you see? A women that looks like she
has not eaten in months. This is not something new in our society,
rather is just something that the world has embraced to the point of
the need for clinic labeled : Anorexia and Bulimia.
Young girls are trying to fit in and as such they are destroying their
young bodies to the point that doctors are not specializing in how to
find a cure for this disease that really is self inflected. It is time
for the adults in this world to give an honest assessment of the youth
in their lives. Children are hiding eating disorders until there is no
denying that the child is need of medical treatment for a disease that
has rob them of both physical and mental health.
The media shows you the shiny lights the made up make believe world of television…when will someone stop and realize that there is nothing good about going to be hungry? Teach your children that everything in the media is done with smoke and mirrors, and that the tiny actors and actress are starving themselves to be in the lime light of todays world, but on day they will find that the damage they have done to their bodies is not worth all the awards and stardome that they enjoy today.
Eating disorders have never been higher at any other time in our world, nor has the death toll numbers related to this disease.
